A great day at Boiler Bay today! Shorebirds was the main group of birds migrating. Large flocks were moving from early morning until afternoon. The flocks often consisted of 100 individuals but some as big as 2000! Most of the birds were Western Sandpiper but good numbers was also counted for species such as Dunlin, Dowitcher and Semipalmated Plover. Highlights of the day was of course the shorebird migration, a Tufted Puffin and two Franklin’s Gull. Counting time 05:50-14:50. 75217 seabirds of 54 species counted. Weather was nice with a blue sky for the whole day. The wind was moderate to strong from northwest 8 m/s (17mph).
